Medios Federales Launches Commercial Operations in Africa
With Elie Kerekdjian leading the expansion, the company begins a new international phase focused on French-speaking African markets. The goal is to connect media, technology, and commercial opportunities, and to expand its network toward the Global South.
Medios Federales announces the launch of its commercial operations in Africa, a step forward in its international expansion strategy. The initiative will be led by Elie Kerekdjian, who will be responsible for developing commercial relationships and consolidating the company's presence across the continent.
With a special focus on French-speaking African countries, Medios Federales will seek to onboard digital publishers into a network that combines monetization solutions, business development, and technology solutions. The expansion aims to bridge its experience in Latin America with the media needs of other regions in the Global South.
Kerekdjian's role will include engaging with publishers, identifying business opportunities, and developing local partnerships to support the operation's growth. The approach involves tailoring efforts to the unique characteristics of each market, both in commercial relationships and in the deployment of technological solutions.
An expansion focused on Francophone markets
Target markets include Morocco, Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal, Algeria, Tunisia, Cameroon, Guinea, and the Republic of the Congo. The plan also considers opportunities in Nigeria, Kenya, and Egypt as part of a strategy that combines a Francophone focus with an openness to other African markets.
The overall roadmap covers 12 markets across Africa and the Francophonie, and includes French Guiana as a complementary extension outside the African continent.
To begin outreach, Medios Federales relies on a base of 115 digital media outlets identified and validated by its team. This survey serves as the starting point to establish contacts, assess needs, and build collaboration proposals tailored to each publisher.
Technology and new opportunities for the media
The commercial offering will combine advertising monetization tools, display and rich media formats, video solutions, and editorial content-related opportunities. Each publisher will be able to evaluate the products and services that best align with its infrastructure, audience, and growth objectives.
In addition to integrating technology, the company will seek to build partnerships that enable publishers to access new advertising demand and content commercialization opportunities. The strategy also includes reaching out to chambers of commerce, press associations, and business organizations to strengthen local relationships.
The initial plan is structured into two phases over six months: a first phase of prospecting and commercial validation, followed by a phase of expansion and consolidation. As targets for this period, Medios Federales aims to reach 40 affiliated media outlets and four institutional partnerships.
With this initiative, the company moves forward in its vision of building a media network with reach across the Global South. The development of the African operation will expand that network and foster commercial connections between Latin American publishers and new international markets.
